Project Description

The graphs show the level of investment, divided by thematic area and by programs directly managed by the Commission (FP7 and Horizon 2020), by companies with tax residence in Tuscany.
In terms of the number of projects, Tuscan companies tended to invest more in FP7 programs in “Information and communication technologies”, “Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies”, and “Research for the benefit of SMEs” “, while the most funded Horizon 2020 courses were in “Information and communication Technologies”, “Energy”, and “Transport”.
In terms of percentage of the specific funding for each area, the Tuscan companies were more competitive for FP7 in “Research for the benefit of SMEs” and in “Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies”, and for Horizon 2020 in “Information and communication Technologies”, “Space” and “Advanced Manufacturing and processing” and in “Biotechnologies”.

The percentage impact of the funding is the product of the ratio between total funding obtained from the region or institute selected in a given thematic area and the total allocated by the European Union in reference to the chosen area.
